The South Australian Education Department antiracism policy (1990) was certain as the fashion model for eliminating racism from the working and breeding environments for which it is responsible, thereby meeting its legislative obligations, as a major(ip) education service provider and employer. The Act was an important particle accelerator for change within the department. The situation that the policy had a legislative basis, gave it credibility among educators and community groups. voices 51, and 52 and 59 of the Act, formed the precept for the development of the grievance procedures, which nominate the means for resolving complaints of racist discrimination and harassment.
